Product Manual: Fluorescent Whitening Agent BAC for Acrylic Fibers
Time:2025-09-28Views:
1. Product Name
BAC-L Fluorescent Whitening Agent (Specialized for Acrylic Fibers)
2. Performance Indicators
- Appearance: Yellow transparent liquid
- Ionicity: Cationic
- pH Application Range: 3-4
- Solubility: Easily soluble in acidic aqueous solutions; stable solution
- Shade: Blue-violet tone
- Density: Approximately 1 g/cm³
3. Applications
Specifically designed for acrylic fibers and acrylic blends (e.g., acrylic/wool, acrylic/cellulose blends). It effectively enhances fabric whiteness and vividness with high color development efficiency, free from yellowing and powder-falling issues. It exhibits excellent stability against chlorite, hydrogen peroxide (pH < 6.5), and reductive bleaching agents, allowing bath co-use with sodium chlorite bleaching solution. It is also compatible with cationic dyes and cationic softeners. Not suitable for strong alkaline environments; it maintains good fastness to light, soaping, and heat-pressing on fibers.
4. Dosage
- Acrylic Exhaust Dyeing: 0.25-1.5% (o.w.f)
- Acrylic Pad-Steam/Acid-Assisted Dyeing: 5-15 g/L (pad liquor pick-up: 70-90%)
- Acrylic/Wool Blends (Acrylic Component): 0.2-0.75% (o.w.f)
5. Usage Methods
1. Exhaust Dyeing Method (for Acrylic Fibers)
- Bath ratio: 1:10-40
- Add BAC-L, 1-3 g/L sodium nitrate, and 0.5-1 g/L dispersant to the dye bath.
- Adjust pH to 3-4 with formic acid.
- Immerse the fabric at 40-80℃, then raise the temperature to 95-98℃ over at least 30 minutes, and hold for 30-40 minutes.
- Follow with cooling → water washing → drying.
- For bleaching needs: Add 1-2 g/L sodium chlorite and a stabilizer for co-bath treatment.
2. Pad Dyeing Method (for Acrylic Fibers)
- Prepare the working solution according to the specified dosage and adjust pH to 3-4.
- Perform two dips and two pads (pad liquor pick-up: 70-90%).
- Follow with pre-drying (100℃) → curing (160-170℃ for 30 seconds).
6. Precautions
1. No additional dissolution is required before use; add directly to the acidic dye bath. Avoid direct sunlight exposure to the working solution.
2. Use low-hardness water to prepare the dye bath to ensure sufficient color development of the whitening agent.
3. Avoid use in environments with pH > 5; strong alkalinity will damage the product performance.
4. Stock solutions should be stored away from light; avoid light exposure for the base fabric before color fixation.
7. Packaging & Storage
- Packaging: 300 kg plastic drum
- Storage: Seal and store in a cool, dry place at room temperature.
- Shelf Life: 12 months
